A Quiet Storm is a short film by writer/director Jason Affolder, a veteran firefighter for the New Orleans Fire Department. Many of the violent scenarios and crime scenes portrayed in A Quiet Storm were inspired by real-life events, witnessed first-hand by Affolder while on duty.

SYNOPSIS: Aurora, a teenage girl from New Orleans’ 9th Ward, suspects her older cousin Tyrell has become a violent criminal. Soon she is torn: Should she contact the police in order to collect a reward which would allow her to attend college, or stay true to her family and community by remaining silent? While she struggles with this decision, Tyrell begins to suspect her loyalties and considers what he must do to protect himself.  Cast members include Morgan Glover, Martin “Bats” Bradford, Samantha Beaulieu, Terence Rosemore and Rhonda Johnson Dents.
