21st Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Art Exhibition. This year's exhibition theme is from the last speech Dr. King wrote before his assassination: Standing in Times of Challenge and Controversy. These annual exhibitions are ways to commemorate and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Civil Rights Movement, and individuals who worked to foster the dream of Dr. King. The exhibitions also pay homage to people around the world who work tirelessly to further peace and collective understanding while serving to promote nonviolent and safe friendly cohabitation. Included in the event are a panel discussion and a presentation by the winner of the essay competition. For more information, call (504) 715-8137.
