Since last October, Ashé has been absent from its main campus on Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard. Cultural activities were replaced by backhoes, lifts, tools, contractors and lots of dust. We're excited to say"We're Going Home"! Ashé Cultural Arts Center and Concordia are thrilled to join forces in the celebration.
Concordia's Summer Solstice will be held this year in the newly renovated welcome area at Ashé.The renovation features a Community Nursing Lounge for mothers, made possible by a generous donation from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Ashé will also be unveiling its "Live-in / See-in" space, and new restroom facilities.
The night will include a DJ, performances by Bamboula 2000 drummers and dancers, students from Ashé's Kuumba Institute, and so much more. Concordia is celebrating their 35th anniversary and Ashé is in its 20th year of operation, so we intend to make it a night to remember! Join us for fun, food, and drinks on the boulevard!
