N'kafu presents: "Mouminatou Camara - The Legend"

The excitement is back as N'Kafu Traditional African Dance Company presents its annual Concert and Dinner Theater. N'kafu celebrates 27 years of M'Batle Su' (Going Home), this year presenting Mouminatou Camara - The Legend. The play was written by: Mouminatou Camara, Roscoe Reddix, and Mariama Curry; and directed by: Roscoe Reddix Jr. Curry and Reddix bring to the stage the story of one of the most profound African Dance Masters in the World, Mouminatou Camara, the lead dancer of the National Dance Company of Guinea, West Africa. Mesmerizing audiences throughout America, N'Kafu will breathe life into age-old values and traditional costumes of the Foula People.

N'Kafu's Annual African Dance and Drum Conference runs from Friday, March 23 through Sunday, March 25. 

All classes will take place at the Historical Treme Center, 900 North Villere St., with master dancers and drummers at the helm. An abbreviated schedule follows. 
Dance-drum classes are $10.00. 
March 23, 2018 - Classes 5:30-8:30 PM
March 24, 2018 - Classes 9:00 AM-3:00 PM
March 25, 2018 - Classes 10:00 AM-3:00 PM (2 dance classes and one history class)
