“Dear Black People,” written and directed by Chris James of The Chris James Journey

The one-act play is a satire that discusses black culture in America: identity, racism, relationships, sexuality, music, politics, the typical stereotypes and more. It shows a very enlightening perspective of the black experience. The play is meant to be a mirror to some and a cultural baptism to others. Often poking fun, this performance piece has made audiences laugh and learn all at the same time. Most of the work is written and performed in poetry verse.

The play first hit our stage on August 5, when a massive rain storm caused severe street flooding, keeping many folks at home.  But a nearly-packed house of determined theater-goers showed up and witnessed some of the best in witty lyricism, sarcasm and realism by James and his cast of incredible actors from Little Rock, Arkansas.
