One might ask "why health and wellness at a cultural center?" Data has shown that as a person looses their culture their health declines. Ashé believes that Culture is the Other Vitamin C.  We have community collaborations with the national and local Place Matters team, Samueli Institute, and the New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation and the New Orleans Musicians Clinic to name a few. The Ashé health and wellness programs are coordinated by Jamilah Y.Peters-Muhammad RN BSN FCN also know as Mama Jamilah.  Jamilah is a community health advocate with over 40 years of experience in faith and community health and is a dancer/percussionist.
